Therapy can be expensive which often deters efforts toward improving your emotional health. However, therapy is also an important investment in yourself. I offer a free, in-person 50-minute consultation that will give you the opportunity to acquaint yourself with me and determine if I am the right therapist for you.
Sessions following the initial consultation last 50 minutes and are typically held once a week. However, depending on the presenting issues, we may decide to increase or decrease the frequency of sessions.
Fees for ongoing therapy sessions are arranged during the initial consultation.
I accept cash, credit card, or personal checks
In order to set realistic treatment goals and priorities, it is important to evaluate what resources are available to you to help you pay for your treatment.
I am an out-of-network provider, which means that, if you have a PPO insurance plan, a portion of my fee is typically covered after your deductible has been met. However, if you have an EPO or HMO plan, my services will not be covered. If you are unsure of your insurance plan’s mental health coverage, contact your insurance company to determine your mental health benefits.
You can check your coverage by asking your insurance company the following questions:
Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session for an out-of-network provider?
Psychotherapy services may also be reimbursed under your Flex Plan or medical saving account.
Though I bill insurance at the end of each month, and provide any other assistance I can to ensure you receive the benefits to which you are entitled, you are responsible for full and timely payment of my fees. It is therefore important that you find out exactly what mental health services your insurance policy covers.
Once you have made an appointment, cancellations require a 24-hour window, barring emergencies. I am very understanding and willing to be flexible during unforeseen circumstances that prohibit your attendance. However, a payment will be charged if you are unable to maintain your appointment in a non-emergency situation or if attendance is inconsistent.
